On 13 Dec there were 3 late Western Grebes at Klondike Lake. They had the greenish yellow bill, eye in the black, and dark sides to the waterline. There was 1 late Clark's Grebe at Tinemaha Reservoir. It showed a yellowish-orange bill, eye in the white, and light flanks to the water line. An immature female Merlin (race columbarius)on Big Pine Canal Road, and 500 Brown-headed Cowbirds on Big Pine Canal Road feeding with cattle in a pasture. This is an amazing number for winter. Last and best was an immature White-winged Scoter photographed at Tinemaha Reservoir. This is the 18th record for the county.
