Snow brings out some odd - and poignant - behavior in birds. This Roadrunner was searching in nooks and crannies in the K-Mart parking lot. Slim pickin's, I'd wager. Plus, this morning I saw two Chukar (likely escapees from the ranch where Chukars and pheasants are raised) standing stock-still in the snow along Sunland Road, even as cars raced by. They were gone later, so they weren't frozen...maybe they saw a predator.
