This bird was one of many juncos feeding on the ground at my home in Aspendell over the President's Holiday weekend. It didn't look like the usual Oregon variety in that it lacked the buffy sides and appeared somewhat darker overall. I since learned that it is a cross between the Slate Colored and the Oregon group, called cismontanus. There were around three of these birds but this one showed faint white wing bars which is less common than those without.
