Cassin's Vireo was in willowy vegetation at the mouth of the canyon, immediately above the LADWP aqueduct pipeline and the old corral. Also present were a Phainopepla and Hermit Thrush. Down at the old sulfur stockpile area at the junction of Highway 395 and Nine Mile Canyon Road, a male Verdin was present. This sighting was on Friday, April 7.
