There was an interesting observation of one of the Swainson's Hawks we saw this past Saturday during the LAAS field trip. One of the displaying hawks in Chalfant Valley we observed to have a "transmitter" pack on its upper back complete with an antenna sticking up about 5". I'll ask Pete Bloom to see if his team may have placed the hardware on this species of hawk. Be on the look out for it should it nest in the valley. Mary Freeman, Glendale, CA
