Sighting

This morning (19 May) there was a female Phainopepla in the willow trees along the ditch 300 yards south-east of Dixon Green-gate Cottonwoods. When it first flew over, the pale patches in the primaries stood out on a dark bird. When perched, we could see the slim, pointy crest and brownish eye (not red like a male) on a dark gray head.
