On my way to town this morning I observed a burrowing owl perched on the barbed-wire fence on the east side of Hwy 6 just north of the sign marking the Mono Co line. I turned around to take a closer look and as I approached on foot it went into a burrow. There are several burrows with prey remains on the apron. I went back 3 times today to take pics, but it was shy. I'll try again tomorrow.
