Sighting

On June 17 three birds seen with Wilson's bobbing in the water just south of the marsh vegetation at the delta area (where the Owens River pours into the lake). Top of heads black, white cheek patch, rufous red neck, breast, belly & flanks, and a black and brown mottled mantel. Bills clearly thicker, shorter than Wilson's and yellow-colored.  Birds only hung around for about two minutes when they and the Wilson's all flushed and headed south across the lake. About 1/2 hour later some Wilson's came back, but no Reds.
