I was remiss in not including the original finder of the Yellow Grosbeak in my original post and I send my public apologies to Eva Poole-Gilson. She looked out her window and saw a bird that she immediately recognized as different from all the others. She looked in her bird books and couldn't find anything that looked exactly like the bird. That is easily explained because this bird is oddly plumaged (immature body feathers and adult wings and tail). She called Cindy Kamler to come look at this bird, Cindy did and then went to the books and decided that it was closest to Yellow Grosbeak and began notifying people. They both did everything right in notifying the public of the unusual visitor so that it could be documented and photographed fully. We owe them both a large round of applause.
