For the third year in a row, a male/female Black-headed Grosbeak pair has returned to our yard in May on Pa Me Lane in West Bishop to feast on sunflowers. I am unable to take a close enough picture to determine if they are the same pair each year; however, I have never seen more than the pair at one time. It would be nice to know if they are a breeding pair nearby but it is very hard to follow them in a residential area. Are there breeding pairs in northern Inyo County?
