On 17 May, on Ocean View Dr. in 40 Acres, there was a male Broad-tailed Hummer trilling through a yard with feeders shortly after noon. Due to the lack of flowers in the wild, people are encouraged to keep their nectar feeders filled to lessen the impact of the drought on our hummingbirds. Those who do may be rewarded with species in their yards that they haven't had before.
