Driving north on Burcham Flat Road off Hwy 395 (shortly south of 108 turnoff) about 1 mile up in area of sage brush slopes. Saw a group of 4 sage grouse, likely female or juveniles, along very small creek on east side of road. At approach, birds flew up over hill. Spiky tail feathers seen well, but not black belly or white throat. All birds appeared mottled brown-grey.
