Sighting

This morning, 11 Sept, at 7:30AM there was a female-plumaged American Redstart at the south end of Greengate Cottonwoods. It was also seen on the south side of Dixon in the big cottonwood adjacent the gate and further SE in a large Russian Olive by the ditch. The bird showed yellow splotches on the sides of its plain breast and wings, and lots of yellow at the base of the fanned outer tail feathers. It was often located by its soft 'chit' call note.
