Sighting

Late morning, March 6th, at China Ranch near the Bed and Breakfast. At first glance it seemed to be a Nuttalls, but didn’t exactly sound like one. Then I noticed the multiple bars on its tail (5-6) and the slight buffy breast. There was more white in the cheek area as well. I have heard countless Nuttall’s so the slightly different call & rattle call stood out. This is a common species, but I have been looking for one for years and was pleased to finally see one.
