Sighting

Spring migration is in full swing in Death Valley: In addition to the usual suspects, eared grebes, spotted and least sandpipers, common moorhen, sora, double crested cormorant, the first of the season barn swallow, and Wilson's snipe at the FC golf course platform pond, with Lucy's warblers singing from the mesquites along Airport Road this morning. In the yard today are Townsend's, Yellow-rumped, Orange crowned, and Wilson's warblers, rc kinglets, a verdin gathering nest materials, and a dusky flycatcher, while boatloads of juvenile Costa's hummers vie for a chance at the feeder.
