Imagine my surprise driving into Bishop this morning around 11:30 when I look to my left and see a very light colored raptor flying adjacent to me over Laws Pasture...The bird landed with dominantly white tail, white breast, very light colored in general, with those fluffy pantaloons, and in flight that nice rusty color on its back indicative of the light adult Ferruginous Hawk as shown in Sibley. A fantastic early bird! Have photographs and when i get myself sorted out the end of the week after the move, will post them.
