Birding Hotspots: Millpond County Park

What's There:

Fall and Winter are the best times to look for various migrant warblers and sparrows in the scrubby fringes.  The pond gets ducks and occasionally mergansers.

Directions:

From downtown Bishop, drive north on Highway 395 approximately 4 miles, turn left on Ed Powers Rd following obvious signs to Millpond Park and Recreation Area.  There are two general areas to bird.  Turn left to go to the pond.   Go straight and up the hill to bird the concession area and campground (big cottonwoods).
