What’s There:

A good place for raptors (check out the power line poles) and a variety of smaller birds that thrive in the large fields and the clumps of trees and shrubs. Access to a little used stretch of the Owens River.

Best Time:

Year round. Great place for wintering raptors (e.g., Ferruginous Hawks) and a good place to look for Swainson’s Hawks in Spring. Good location to see large flocks of Mountain Bluebirds returning in Spring.

Directions:

This good dirt road just South of Big Pine runs East off US 395 over to the Owens River.
